ABOUT US.
Hogar Miguel Magone is a home for children and young people in vulnerable situations in Guatemala. It is a non-profit institution that provides support and care to children and youth who have suffered abuse, neglect or are at risk of homelessness. The goal of Hogar Miguel Magone is to provide these young people with a safe and welcoming environment where they can receive medical care, education, and emotional support to help them develop and reach their full potential.
REALITIES IN GUATEMALA.
The realities children and adolescents experience in Guatemala are challenging, with many young people facing vulnerability and inequalities. Some of the most significant challenges for youth in Guatemala include:
POVERTY.
According to the World Bank, more than 60% of the Guatemalan population lives in poverty. Extreme poverty greatly affects children and adolescents, limiting their opportunities and access to basic resources such as food, education, and medical care.

VIOLENCE.
Guatemala is considered one of the most violent countries in Latin America, with a high homicide rate and widespread gang violence. This violence especially affects young people, including domestic, sexual and street violence.

CHILD LABOR.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, approximately 5% of boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 17 in Guatemala work instead of attending school.

MALNUTRITION.
Malnutrition is a serious problem in Guatemala, especially among the youngest boys and girls. According to UNICEF, approximately 47% of children under the age of 5 in Guatemala suffer from chronic malnutrition.
OUR MISSION.
We are an institution made up of personnel committed to the future of our boys and girls and the future of the nation. We firmly believe that the future of Guatemala depends on children who will become citizens who will act in accordance with the education and values ​​instilled in them in their childhood.
Hogar Miguel Magone is a social service institution whose primary purpose is the human development of the children and young people who are with us. We believe that the basis of the development of our children is the development of self-esteem and social skills that allow our children to integrate successfully into society. We believe the only way to achieve this is through example and the constant support and presence for the children.
